OUR MISSION

Organization of Women in International Trade-Toronto seeks to enhance the status and interests of women in the field of international trade through the establishment of a global network of business contacts.

OUR GOALS

Business: To promote international trade and commerce

Networking: To establish and expand international business contacts, particularly among women.

Education: To help members develop global business skills and stay current on international issues

OUR HISTORY

Formed in March 2000, the Organization of Women in International Trade-Toronto (OWIT-Toronto) is a non-profit professional organization designed to promote women doing business internationally by providing networking opportunities, export education and global business contacts.

OWIT-Toronto was the first Canadian chapter of the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT). Originating in the United States in 1989, OWIT is a worldwide network of chapters promoting international trade and commerce.

WHO WE ARE

Members include women exporters and importers, service providers and government representatives involved in trade. With women-owned businesses significantly underrepresented in the global trade arena, OWIT seeks to change this by providing global business contacts, networking and educational opportunities.
