OWIT-Toronto is excited to welcome our keynote speaker for this year, The Honourable Carole L. Brookins. Carole served from 2001 to 2005 as the United States Executive Director to The World Bank in Washington, D.C. She was also the winner of the OWIT-International Woman of the Year in 2003. An international consultant, she is currently a Managing Director of Public Capital Advisors LLC (PCA), as well as a director on both corporate and non-profit boards. These include the AIM-listed holding company Climate Exchange plc (CLE) and the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX). She serves as Chairman of the North American Advisory Board of NTR plc, an international developer and operator in renewable energy and sustainable waste management, and on the North American Agribusiness Advisory Board of Rabobank International and Zogby International. A member of the GVEP International (Global Village Energy Partnership) Board of Trustees, she serves on the World Agricultural Forum Advisory Board and as a Counselor of the International Agribusiness Management Association (IAMA). Ms Brookins was named in 2008 as a member of HRH The Prince of Wales’ Rainforest Project (PRP) Advisory Council. She is a member of the U.S. Council on Foreign Relations and the Bretton Woods Committee. In 2006, she co-founded Public Capital Advisors LLC (PCA) (www.publiccapitaladvisors.com)- a financial advisory firm directed to emerging markets in support of infrastructure finance for national and municipal/sub-sovereign governments.
