Susan Langdon C.M., a Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Fashion Design graduate, was recently honored as a Member of the Order of Canada for her significant contributions to Canada's culture and economy. In 1994, Langdon shattered barriers by becoming the first racialized woman to assume a leadership role in the Canadian fashion industry when she joined the award-winning non-profit organization, Toronto Fashion Incubator (TFI).
Langdon's journey is one of inspiration, marked by her unwavering dedication and mentorship. Her outstanding achievements have earned her numerous accolades including receiving an Alumni Award of Recognition from Toronto Metropolitan University and being inducted into the university's Hall of Fame, Industry Achievement Award from the City of Toronto, Fashion Visionary Award from Fashion Group International, Fashion Canada Award from the Government of Canada, Concours Design Award, and the Woolmark Award of Distinction to name a few.
She is renowned globally as a foremost authority on fashion incubation and entrepreneurship and has consulted with governments around the world including Australia, Denmark, Japan, Russia, South Africa and the United States.
